Hi all
I have just unwrapped my brand new iMac but have found the plastic strip round the edge and clear covering on the back missing.
I had the ssd upgraded to 1TB. I just wondered if this was the reason?
if anyone had any answers to this I would be very grateful. I don’t want to pay full price for a new Mac if it’s a refurbished one.

This is a new Apple Silicon iMac M1?
I can't imagine it's because of a storage upgrade as it would have come as you specified from the factory.
Was it a purchase direct from Apple?

It's hard to argue against someone from Apple who should know more about the sale and delivery process than I. I'm sure they did not send a refurbished product if you did not order one. That wouldn't be the Apple that I know.
Regardless, you still have the full warranty to rely on should you need it.
