How to disable Time Machine?

Can anyone tell me how to disable Time Machine?

It appears to be backing up automatically to a partition on the internal drive:

This is the only setting I can find (System Preferences):

How to delete Time Machine snapshots on your Mac

Notation - If the user is using a cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner - suggest tweaking the Safety Net Feature in this software. It may be making additional Snap Shots that are not being Cloned to the Eternal Drive. If this should be the case, these Snap Shot could be using additional space on the drive

What does the user believe will happen if the Destination Drive is Removed from the list of Destinations in TM Backup Utility ?

Link below and excerpt from same link

If you already set up Time Machine, do either of the following:

Add a backup disk: Click the Add button .

Remove a backup disk: Click the Remove button , then click Forget Destination.

Time Machine Backup Utility makes snap shots too.

They are made and maintained on the Internal Drive.

At the Scheduled Time - TM Backup will attempt to Transfer the Snap Shot to the Designated and Chosen Drive the User ( you ) have assigned.

If TM Backup does NOT See the Attached Drive, it will hold the Snap Shot on the Internal Drive until such time as the Destination Drive is attached.

Should the Drive not be presented before the Next Scheduled Backup - TM Backup will create yet Another Snap Shot and hold that snap shot on the Internal Drive

CCC if used in Manual Mode and " Safety Net " within CCC is configured, it too will make Snaps Shots which and when Run will be Transferred to the Designated External Drive.

It is strongly suggested to Use 1 Designated Drive Solely for the Purposes of TM Backup Utility

It is very strongly suggest to Use a Seperate Drive Solely for the Purposes of Carbon Copy Cloner
