AirPod volume via AppleTV remote no longer working

while watching AppleTV connected to my LG and Sonos Arc, I could add a HomePod in a different room on my iPhone and then control the volume on both the Sonos Arc and the HomePod with the volume up/down buttons on the AppleTV remote. Since the last update that feature no longer functions. I have to go into control center on my iPhone and adjust the volume for the HomePod. I hope this gets fixed. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks, but I have updated/restarted/rebooted SO many times trying to fix other issues.
