Apple books not working properly - MacBook Pro 2018 on Ventura macOS

I have bought a lot of books using the Apple Books app on my MacBook Pro, but I noticed that various Books functions are horrible. For example, when I highlight three rows of text in Books, the middle row is usually not highlighted. Also, when I read a science or physics book, the figures and formulas are horribly tiny and/or blurry. I just compared the same physics book to the Kindle version, and the Kindle books don't have such problems. I want Apple to fix the problem. Or I would like all the money I spent on Apple Books to be refunded so I can replace them with Kindle books that I can read on a Kindle app on my MacBook Pro.
