Citrix

Hi

I am looking at purchasing one of the M2 MBPs.

Even the base model is - I think - (significant) overkill for my needs in terms of "power", but I would prefer the "better" screen over that in the Air. Assuming it keeps going, I will likely keep the laptop (replacing the battery if necessary) for at least 10 years.

Leaving the above aside, it will most commonly be used to run Citrix Workspace to access a Remote Desktop (e-mail/outlook, word, chrome (which I have to use) and a digital filing system) plus the apple music app when I am travelling.

I understand Citrix now offers "native support" for the M1 chip, so presumably it also supports/will work with M2?

Moreover, should I be looking to upgrade the memory from the standard 16GB to 32GB? I will likely upgrade the storage to 1 or 2 TB in any event.

Finally, given the above intended usage and time I will keep the laptop, is there going to be any tangible benefit in having the M2 max chip over the pro chip (I would have thought not) please?

Thank you

Good day to you Think_differently123,

We understand that you’re asking about running Citrix on a new Mac and the requirements. It sounds like you did some research and know that the software supports an M1 processor. For information on how much RAM and the M2 processor we are going to recommend reaching out to Citrix directly for that information.

Also, when looking at how much RAM and storage a new computer should have, take into consideration how much you have in your computer now and whether it’s working for you or if you need more.

Thanks.
