Gray Rectangle on MBP M1 Screen

I purchased this laptop a year ago. Periodically this gray rectangle will appear around the middle of the screen, extending from top to bottom. If I open a folder or file, it will simple pass behind it. I did a little screen recording today and found that the screen recording did not capture the gray rectangle at all. I've included a little video as well. Any thoughts? A simple restart "resolves" the issue, but this has been happening every few months.

Hi megumi_shikigami,

If the issue doesn't show in a screenshot or screen recording, it's very likely hardware related and part of the display may be failing.

We'd advise contacting Apple Support in your area to have your Mac inspected. Additionally, save a video clip or screenshot like this to show the technician if/when you take the computer in as the issue is intermittent.

Take care.
