Converting Yahoo contacts to iCloud contacts

How do I convert my Yahoo contacts to iCloud contacts? The only answer I have seen is useless: I need to create a vcard for EVERY SINGLE ONE! of my hundreds 343) of contacts. One at a time. Then I can add, one at a time, each of the vcards. That's 686 individual operations.

Surely any decent mobile phone manufactured in the last 20 years must have a way to perform this function as a batch.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 15

Tap Settings on your device.

Tap Mail > Accounts > Add Account.

Tap Yahoo.

Enter your email address and tap Next.

Enter your password and tap Sign in.

Slide the "Mail," "Contacts," and "Calendars" sliders on.

On Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > turn Contacts to ON

I have done all of these things. But the Yahoo contacts do not upload to the iCloud.

I am reluctant to try it, but perhaps I should delete my Yahoo email account (on my iPhone), then re-add it?

For reasons which baffle me, at least half of my contacts were added on my iPhone. They are not native to Yahoo. If I add a contact on my iPhone, why is it somehow assumed to be a Yahoo contact?

Contacts are pretty simple. Not sure why Apple and Yahoo make them so complicated.
