Wifi calling - sms to and from android phones doesn't work

Hi,

We recently moved to an area that is so remote we have no phone signal with any provider.

We want to use wifi-calling to use our phones at home to call and send/recieve sms.

I have an iPhone 11 running iOS version 16.3.1. and also an old iphone 7 running iOS 15.7.3 for my buisness linked on the same Apple ID. I have a prepaid sim with Aldi Mobile (coverage is Telstra) and all functions work when coverage to call and sms all numbers etc.

The issue is with wi-fi sms. I can call all numbers with wifi calling. I cannot send or recieve sms to or from android phones. Iphone messages seem to work as iMessage without a hitch. I believe the wifi sms is not working. Both phones meet minimum requirements to have this capacity. I have phoned my carrier and they say it is a phone setting. I have spent many hours on apple help - reseting phone to factory settings and updating software and the issue persists.

My husband has an iphone 7 and is running iOS 14.8.1 and has the same carrier and his phone has no problem to send and receive wifi-sms at our home address. It worked from day 1 and mine have not.

Please help as I'm not sure what to do now as for 6 weeks have been trying to resolve issue and missing important communications.
