After enabling Advanced Data Protection, Bookmarks and Reading List Stopped syncing.

Hello

For my 2 computers, iPad, and iPhone, when advanced data protection is on the bookmarks and reading list data will not sync in Safari on the most current version of the OS. When I disable ADP, the data will sync when I open the screens or make a change. I tested this twice and am very sure that ADP is causing a problem with both. How can I clear this issue up?

Hi there.

I run ADP on all my devices (iOS and macOS), syncing is near-instantaneous for most items. If you only recently turned on ADP, it’s likely there’s still a sync pending or stuck in limbo.

A few things you can try…

  • Cold restart all iCloud-connected devices.
  • Toggle Safari off/on on all your devices.
  • Clear your Safari browser history on at least one of the devices.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and Internet modem (e.g., cable, DSL, FIOS, etc.)
