Screen time requests not appearing on apple watch

I am using Apple Watch SE series 2 with latest firmware.

My daughter requests screen time and a request appears on my iPhone but not my Apple Watch. It was the main reason I got an Apple Watch! Is this just me or do requests not appear on the Watch now - searching this forum and the web I think it was previously enabled.

If it is not enabled automatically how do I do this?

Thanks.

See if this answers your question.

You would need a cellular watch or have your iphone near but locked.

Notifications (Sounds, Haptics and Banners)

Apart from actual phone calls which ring on both by default, the Sounds and haptic notifications and banners for messages etc follow these rules…

~ If the phone is in use (open) then you get tangible notifications on the phone only. Messages and Mail still appear silently on the Watch in the relevant app without banner..

~ If the phone is locked you get tangible notifications on the Watch only. If you have notifications set for iPhone Lock Screen or Notification center they still go to the phone, but silently without banner.
