Apple photos “documents and data” storage

I need to manage storage on my iphone. Apple photos documents and data is using 2 GB, while my photos (which are automatically backed up to google photos and regularly deleted) are only taking up 15MB. Why is documents and data taking up so much storage and how can I free it up?
