Resetting Ipod Shuffle

I need to reset an Ipod Shuffle to factory settings. I can't find Apple Itunes in the application store. What happened to Itunes?

I have downloaded the utility to restore ipods, but my Mac will not open it because it is from an unknown developer. Help

Can I erase or reset my Apple iPod Shuffle with the Music App? Or do I need iTunes? I'd like to do a factory reset on my iPod Shuffle, but I no longer seem to have iTunes on my computer and I downloaded it, but it no longer works on my current Mac version. Did the Music app replace iTunes? And can I erase my shuffle with the Music app?

reset click wheel iPod A-1059 I am selling my Gen 4 iPod "Clickwheel" model A1059. I was able to Re-set the iPod from its own Settings menu. I thought this felt incomplete so I plugged it into an old MacBook Pro and launched iTunes. The iPod appears in the iTunes window showing 6GB of audio files but when I chose "Summary" it will not restore..... I get a message to the effect it can't contact the download center (wifi is working ok). In addition to the old laptop I have a new M1 as well. How can I reset/erase the old iPod, using either the old iTunes or the brand new laptop? Thank you.

I downloaded iTunes on a PC. ITunes recognized the IPod Shuffle, and I was able to reset it. Sometimes it’s good to have a PC around.

If you're running Mojave or earlier, iTunes will be in the Applications folder and the Dock. Otherwise, use the Finder to restore it.
