AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues - Apple Support

Hi, I had the same; I switched off the sound setting (I have been using the transparency sound setting), and all the crackles are gone). I have also checked with Apple, but the serial number does not qualify for the service program. However, I am sure my Air Pods have the same issue.

This is a known fault with the airpods pro.

Having contacted Apple I was told to either take them to a repair shop 25 miles away (reseller) where they could look at them there and then or to send them to Apple for a fee of £246. At no point in the 3 conversations I had on Apple chat did anyone ask the age of my ipods or ask for the serial number.

I took them to the store, they said I had to leave them overnight, which wasn't what Apple told me. So this means 50 miles of travelling and 2 lots of parking fees. So already I am not happy.

The reseller then emailed me the next day and told me that because they are just over 3 years old, they can't repair under warranty and the repair fee is £198 or buy new ones.

I spoke with Apple again, who refused to help despite this being a known fault. I now realise they are just outside the warranty period but I was not told this prior to Apple making the appointment with the reseller.

Apple has wasted a lot of my time and money and not given me any support whatsoever. Perhaps if I had known they would not help me at all, I could have saved myself many hours of time and just bought new ones, now I am loathed to buy new ones as Apple customer service has been very poor in my opinon.
