Merging Two Families on one Apple Family Plan

I am about to get remarried and my fiancée and I each have our own Apple Family plans. We want to merge onto one plan for ourselves and our children. When I invite them to my pan as Organizer, how do they retain their playlists and the such without starting over?

The important thing is to maintain a continuous subscription at all times. With children (as defined by Apple which is generally under 13 but can vary according to country) this may be easier since you have to do a direct transfer between families.

The document Move a child to another group using Family Sharing - Apple Support says: "You can't remove a child under 13 years old [see the document for regional age variations] from your family group, but you can move them to another group or delete their account."
