2fa trusted phone number best practices?

Hello. I added my home phone number as a second trusted phone number, but I wonder if other phone numbers may make sense to add…phones that will most likely be near me when I need to access iCloud.com for find my iPhone when my phone is lost or another scenario where I don’t have any of my apple devices with me and I’m far from home. Is it a bad security practice to add a few family member phone numbers as trusted phone numbers? They won’t have my password so it’s just to receive the second factor code via voice call. Thanks!

If you feel comfortable with adding somebody's number you can do that, but you may also wish to read this article : Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support

- "An account recovery contact is someone who can verify your identity and help you regain access to your account and all of your data if you ever get locked out."

- You can select up to five recovery contacts for your account.

- Requires iOS 15 or iPad OS 15

- If you forget your Apple ID password or get locked out of your account, just follow the steps on your device to share the onscreen instructions with your recovery contact in-person or on the phone. Your recovery contact then shares a six-digit code that you enter on your device. After your identity is confirmed, you can reset your Apple ID password.
