Part 1 of 2

The Two Desktop scenario sounds like Mission Control

This article may profiled some insights on this topic and may answer that aspect of this computer issue

like below

Use Mission Control on your Mac - Apple Support (CA)

Part 2 of 2

There has been a rash of pop up Notifications presenting with something like Virus Detected

In most cases to is because a Clever Developer has Tricked the User into inadvertently enable that website to Give Notification for Virus Found on this computer

Suggestion is to go into Safari >> Settings >> Website tab

Then refer to the two ( 2 ) images below and remove any Unknown or Suspicious looking websites

Image 2 >> Pop-up Windows category

Hello plblily,

Thanks for reaching out out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about your desktop, and pops ups, and we'd like to help. Let's look into a few things, with each issue you're seeing.

With your display, as you're seeing jumping, and all other sorts of issues, have you tried restarting, to see if that helps? Shutdown or Restart your Mac

Restart your Mac
* On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.
* If you don’t want app windows that are open to reopen when your Mac restarts, deselect “Reopen windows when logging back in.”

This can sometimes help clear up display issues. If you still notice this happening, let's try isolating this by booting your Mac up in safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode

You also mentioned seeing unwanted pop-ups on your Mac, and the steps in the following link may be able to assist with this: Block pop-up ads and windows in Safari

Let us know if any of these steps help, and we'll go from there.

Regards.
