new airpods pro 2 battery drain as soon as it comes out

Just bought AirPods Pro 2 a month ago. I have been having an issue with the charging case where it abnormally drains battery without using. Now the AirPods drain by at least 2% the next the second it’s out of the case. Is this normal?

Greetings Fatheen,

It's very important to ensure that the battery is working as expected on your new AirPods Pro. We'd like to provide you with a few steps that can assist you with resolving this issue or that can help with further isolating this behavior:

  1. Be sure your iPhone is running the latest software version. Completing this step ensures that your device has the latest fixes. Secure your data with a backup before proceeding: Update iOS on iPhone

2. Verify that your AirPods have the latest firmware version: About firmware updates for AirPods

3. Reset Your AirPods Pro: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro

Also, "here's what you can expect with AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

  • With multiple charges in your case, you get up to 30 hours of listening time,1 or up to 24 hours of talk time.
  • Your AirPods Pro (2nd generation) can get up to 6 hours of listening time (up to 5.5 hours with Spatial Audio and Head Tracking enabled)3 or up to 4.5 hours of talk time on a single charge.
  • If you charge your AirPods Pro (2nd generation) for 5 minutes in their case, you get around 1 hour of listening time5 or around 1 hour of talk time."

More details here: Charge your AirPods and learn about battery life

We hope this helps.

Take care.
