How do I move music from an external hard drive to my mac

Typically you might use iTunes > Preferences > Advanced to declare a new media folder where you want your content to live, then consolidate if prompted or use File > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate Files. This assumes you have enough room to consolidate all of the content connected to the library. If not you may be able to consolidate a selection of files.
