Faint grid in photos

I took a 48 mp raw photo with my new iPhone 14 pro max. There is no problem with the original, but after editing (increasing the contrast and other parameters) in PHOTOS, this faint grid pattern appears in the dark cloud. Any ideas what caused this. I’ve edited the original twice and got the same result. I admit the adjustments are extreme but I did that to highlight the problem more clearly. Any suggestions? Shoul I return the phone?

Hi Davecam53,

As the behavior you're describing is not outlined specifically in any support article, you may try checking the settings described in Change advanced camera settings on iPhone first. Another option is to change the resolution and ProRAW configurations outlined in About Apple ProRAW. If using a third party software for editing you may see if the result occurs when using a different editing solution.

If those should fail to address the concern, then If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working offers this direction:

"Contact Apple Support

If the camera or flash still isn't working properly, contact Apple Support to discuss service options."

Regards.
