Hi mamtav.

Re: i am unable to hear on facetime calls

If this only occurs in FaceTime:

... wondering if the other person on FaceTime is "muted" so can not be heard.

If so, you can ask them to click the "microphone with a line through" button to unmute.

The pictures in this article show the microphone button in use (without line through)

If muting is not the cause of your issue, then changing the volume during the call may be necessary: While on a call on iPhone - Apple Support

or you could try other sound settings to see if that helps:

Adjust the volume on iPhone - Apple Support

or

Change FaceTime audio settings on iPhone - Apple Support

You can use FaceTime over Wi-Fi1 or over cellular on supported iOS devices.

If using wi-fi isn't working well, you could try using cellular (charges may apply),

or vice versa.

or

Apple support's article:

If you can't make or receive a FaceTime call on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

says:

"FaceTime and FaceTime audio calling might not be available for all countries, regions, or carriers."
