outlook for mac

Hi,

I recently upgraded from Outlook for Mac 2019 to Outlook 365 for Mac, tempted by the 'Free upgrade' tag in the email that Outlook sent to me. Little did I know that although the upgrade is free, it'll cost £59 p.a. to be able to send or receive emails! :-(

Now it seems impossible to go back to the 2019 version, as when I uninstall 365 and reinstall 2019, I'm told that I need to upgrade in order to open the database.

Any idea how I can get the database back to a version that can be read by Outlook for Mac 2019?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with Outlook for Mac. Since you've already uninstalled and reinstalled the software, it's likely that the Outlook data file is in a format that's only compatible with Outlook 365 for Mac. However, there are a few things you can try to recover your data:

  1. Use Time Machine: If you've set up Time Machine on your Mac, you can try restoring the Outlook data file from a previous backup. This will allow you to recover your data from a version of Outlook that's compatible with Outlook for Mac 2019.
  2. Export data from Outlook 365: If you still have access to Outlook 365, you can try exporting your data to a file format that's compatible with Outlook for Mac 2019, such as an .olm file. To do this, open Outlook 365, go to the File menu, and choose Export. Follow the prompts to export your data to a file, and then import that file into Outlook 2019.
  3. Contact Microsoft Support: If the above methods don't work, you can try contacting Microsoft Support for assistance. They may be able to provide additional options for recovering your data.

I hope this helps you recover your Outlook data and get back to using the version of Outlook that you prefer.
