Music lag on iPhone after setting up new apple watch SE 2

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I just purchased and set up a SE 2 apple watch. When I play music on my phone, I now have a lag and it continuously skips. Both devices are up to date with the iPhone on version iOS 16.1.1 and watch did an update last night when I was setting it up and is on version watchOS 9.3.1.

Hey Ronnacc,

We’d be happy to help out. If you’re noticing lag while listening to music, this is more often than not a network issue. If on cellular, test over Wi-Fi and vice versa. If isolated to Wi-Fi, restart your modem/router and test further.

Next, your iOS software is not fully updated, so let’s go ahead and get fully updated to iOS 16.3.1 using these steps:

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
. The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

This is outlined further here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

We hope this helps out.

Take care!
