How to clean AirPods ear piece

My AirPods 3 suddenly volume went real low I have the volume turned all the way up still low. I've followed the instruction to deinstall the AirPods and reinstalled them and reconnected and still low volume. So they other option is the screens on the ear piece may be clogged. I used a alcohol swab one time which dissolved the wax clogging them more. So I used an old tooth brush which worked pretty good, this time not working. Is there a better way to clean them? Or is there something else that maybe the problems?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities mlpooley,

The following page offers the recommended steps to clean your AirPods: How to clean your AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods

We also recommend that you try pairing your AirPods with a different device, which may help isolate the volume issue: Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices

We hope this helps!

I'm needing to know how to clean the screen with wax build up not the outside of the pods which is common sense and nothing to do with the low volume w experience, but I guess some people would use soap and water (DAH). But the screen is a different story I haven't seen anyone address it yet. I did read someone saying they remove the screen and cleaned them but had a hard time putting back in correctly. And someone else said No Never remove the screen. So anyone have an answer to my real question?
