some photos on my phone have a cloud with a line trough it

I took 25 photos on my phone today. when i got home 13 of them had synced through iCloud to my mac, but not the others.

I've checked through Safari on my Mac and they are not showing on iCloud.

i looked on my phone at one of the missing photos, and when i click Info, i can see a cloud symbol with an oblique line through it.

On photos that have synced, the cloud has a Tick.

Why have some photos not synced and how do i force them to?

(I don't want a work-around like "copy them via Airdrop"... I know i can do that, but they should sync automatically, and a workaround won't fix that!

Hi Paul Richards4,

Are any of the contents that didn't sync properly large video files? Do you have the additional storage space to accommodate the remaining uploads? Are you using the built-in Photos app to manage your photos or a different app? These questions can help us narrow things down better.

In the meantime, we suggest making your device is connected to Wi-Fi and up-to-date. Here's how to update your device:

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install."
