I am receiving the DTD validation failed in Final Cut Pro

Hi friends,

I really have a strange error that I am facing while I am opening a Final Cut XML that a contractor worked on it for so long time.

The error says The XML document could not be imported.DTD validation failed. (Element asset content does not follow the DTD, expecting (media-rep+ , metadata?), got )

Here is a link to the project with two folders :

The first folder name is: Edited Assets along with XML

The second folder name is: Unedited XML along with the Proxy

I thank you all from the core of my heart!! Kindly guide me on how to solve this issue and open English - Draft 2.fcpxmld

I am using Final Cut Pro 10.6.5

Build: 405627

Ismail

I just had a look. The XML is of the current version, but something went wrong in its creation.

I tried it directly and got the same error.

I was able to open the XML in a text editor. Sometimes one can find where the error is, and fix it.

In this case, that's not really an option, as the file is huge and the error message does not even give me a line number.

What I suggest is for you ask your contractor to try and export again, now with 10.6.5.

Maybe it was a one-off thing.

They can try on their side and see if then can open the exported xml in a new library. If that works on their side, it should work on your side as well.

That's true Luis! Thank you for giving me hope so I can see the light at the end of this tunnel

The contractor upgraded his FCPX from 10.6.2 to 10.6.5

I was originally on 10.6.1 so I asked him which version you are on. His answer was 10.6.2 so I upgraded my FCPX and it turned out that I became on 10.6.5. Eventually, he upgraded later to 10.6.5 but he made the edit on 10.6.2

It's a complete mess and I am lost but I am willing to do what it takes to retrieve the timeline. if I decided to downgrade to 10.6.2 how do I do this? I guess that's my humble way of thinking

What's your thoughts and thanks again for the help in advance :)
