At some point in the last few years, iTunes created a "Music" folder INSIDE my "Music folder...🤬

When it did this, I now had a Music folder with tons of music. Folders listed by artist. Suddenly, amongst the artist folders was a folder called "Music". Inside it was the music I imported since Apple brilliantly started this annoying and redundant practice. So I have some artists in the original music folder, and some in the new music folder. I have chosen the original music folder as may library location in preferences over and over, and it still puts music in the sub folder. I have manually moved the music and it moved back. I've been dealing with it and I've reached the tipping point.

I even took ALL the music in the original folder and moved it into the sub folder. Know what it did? It created ANOTHER F*CKING MUSIC SUBFOLDER!!!!

WTF Apple?

So since I own all my music, I'm backing it all up on a portable hd.

Does anyone have a way to fix this?

If not...has anyone found a good music player that I can access through an app in my phone that will give me the iTunes functionality without the Apple stupidity?

That would be swell.

Thank you,

Randy

M1 Mac mini running Monterey (No, I can't upgrade to Ventura yet. I basically have to stay a year behind since Apple releases new OS WAAAAY before they give third party software developers the chance to become compliant and the plug-ins I use for audio and video production often take months to catch up).

Mac mini, macOS 12.6
