Apple LED Cinema Display with USB Adapter

I have my Cinema Display plugged in to the USB C to to mini DP adapter and my 2018 MacBook Pro and it works fine. If I plug it into my USB C hub, it doesn’t work. Why? The Mac power cord is also plugged into the hub.

Apple Cinema LED 27" display (A1316) won't display from 16" MBP using TB3-TB2 adapter - but shows up in system information ?? So I have an older 2010 Apple Cinema LED display with mini display port plug and connected it to a 16" MBP (2019) using the Apple TB3/TB2 adapter + Apple USB-C to USB-A adapter. The display won't show from either the M1 Mini or 16" MBP. However it shows up in system info as a valid display: If the Mac sees the display, why won't it show ? As a sidenote, I have a 2015 MBP using TB2 port connected to the 27" Cinema display (mini display port) and works perfectly...
