I already opened my new iPhone, but I cannot sync and transfer apps for my old iPhone.

Can I still sync my new iPhone even if it was already opened?

Define "opened". What do you mean by opened?

Do you mean its been set up and you are now at the Home Screen?

If so, you will need to restore it to Factory Settings, and set it up again, to transfer data from a backup or using Quick start from an older iPhone as shown in the support document you posted from.
