Apple Music starts automatically when I remove my AirPod Pro's

Still have this same issue after months of trying to fix. It really is like Apple is begging us to give up using Apple computers by doing this (and many other kinds of) "we know better than you for how to use your computer" crap.

In my case it happens when I put the AirPods in my ears to use it with my MacBook - mostly to use them with a Zoom video conference. The Music application starts up, and random music starts playing. I then need to kill the Music app.

This is SUPER ANNOYING when using the AirPods professionally, like I do.

Funnier (?): when I remove the AirPods and put them back in the case, then SIRI STARTS UP.

This thing is clearly NOT READY FOR PROFESSIONAL USE.

Apple doesn’t care. It’s too busy becoming a media company, and stuffing its walled garden with as many new features as it can, without even a whisper of quality control, so it can sell more units, and rake in more cash. Screw quality when they got quantity in the bag.

I have this problem for a long time. I've tried all the tips I found online, but nothing worked. It's so annoying, especially when music starts playing when I'm in a cafe or in a public transport.

With Spotify I've never faced something like this, so I hope Apple Music will fix it soon, because I really don't want to switch

This is super-frustrating. I use my Bose earbuds for work on-site (hotelling sucks, btw), and every time I put them in, Apple Music plays automatically on my laptop. So this is not just for AirPods, but any earbud, I definitely do not need my music playing on my work laptop!

"Auto start/play" should be a preference setting on Apple Music.

And at that stage, if Apple does not fix it, after all this time and customer feedback, it means that this is intentional from Apple.

How has no one from Apple commented on this issue yet? Almost 300 affected users and has been going on for years now at this point. It first started happening on my 11 Pro and now on my 15 Pro. I have the same AirPod Pro's, but I think the issue lies within the software itself.

It's so embarrassing to have your music start blaring at work when you put your AirPods away.

I found the answer. Hoping this stops the embarrassment for when I take out my AirPods and then it starts playing the Veronica’s untouched on full blast when I didn’t have it open.

Non apple headphones wont help. Ive ended up here because I have exactly the same issue with my macbook pro and my pixel bud pro headphones

It won't matter. I'm using some relatively cheap third-party ear buds, and it happens all the time.

This did not fix it for me. Music still blares upon putting the AirPod Pros away in their case. Embarrassing when in a work setting.
