A few questions about a currently-"non-associated" device (iPhone XR)

I have not made any real-money purchases with my iPhone XR (I have the setting disabled); however, in its "account settings" menu (accessed by going to the main settings menu, then accessing the "Apple ID" menu then going to "Media and Purchases" then tapping "View Account), the iPhone XR is not seen as an "associated" device. Since I did not buy anything using real money under my Apple ID before, would my iPhone XR not being listed as an "associated" device not pose a hindrance to me in any way?

Also, if I want to "re-associate" my device with my Apple ID in the future, how would I do so without making any purchases that involve real money?
