I accidentally burned the screen on my iPad Pro

I accidentally burned the screen on my iPad Pro 1st gen. It’s about an inch in diameter. Screen still plays but have trouble with pencil and finger doing anything from abiut 2-3 inches to bottom of screen. Sometimes using a finger/thumb while placing other fingers on the top and over the screen will work but pencil not so much. I feel stupid about how it happened but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on how to proceed.
