Apple Care Plus nightmare delays

Has anyone else experienced frustrations with Apple care plus? I reported my phone stolen 3 weeks ago . It took 2 weeks for the claim to be approved despite all details being provided and excess being paid immediately. I’m now in no man’s land waiting for AIG / Apple (they’re blaming each other) to process the replacement and provide a tracking number. The AIG call handlers are very polite and are clearly trained on how to show empathy but they’re let down by the claims team and are only able to provide meaningless generic updates with no method of speaking with anyone to get meaningful updates. Apple customer care are no help either. I wish I hadn’t bought apple care and had taken a third party insurance product. I love Apple products and assumed Apple Care would be a premium product and feel let down
