Secondhand watch

I was given a apple series3 . I can’t pair it to a phone because it says I need the original Apple ID. It’s obvious I don’t have that and won’t be able to get it so how can I use this watch ?

Ask the person who gave it to you to unlock it. Otherwise, you can't; the activation lock is an anti-theft measure.
