Printing Emails in Mail

Some emails are printed too light to read. If I take a screen shot of the same email, the text is printed darker and can be read. Also, a screen shot will print more of the actual colors than printing directly from Mail. I have the latest operating system on my iMac and there's no problem with the printer. What's going on?

Good info, I'm out of ink so cannot test, besides not having an Epson, but I's a bad Printer driver I suspect... I wouldn't think 2 different OSes would get a corrupt install.

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

Thanks for the reply. I'm using an Epson ET-3760 printer. My problem is when I print from my iMac computer (my main computer). I have an HP Windows computer so I printed the same emails this morning to the same Epson printer. Everything printed OK. I can read everything and all the colors are there. This is before I installed the latest Epson software.

Since you mentioned Drivers, I downloaded and installed the latest software from Epson. I just tried printing from my iMac again and nothing has changed. Some of the print is too light to read and not all of the colors are there. I don't even have to print the emails to know that they will not be correct since I can tell in the print preview.

I don't know what to do next. One solution, I guess, is to use the HP computer to print emails.

I think so-haven't noticed it anywhere else yet. I noticed that since I upgraded my iMac iOS from Ver. 12 to Ver. 13 (Ventura) there has been a change in the look of the Print Preview. You used to see the second or third page by clicking on an arrow. Now the Thumbnails are shown vertically and are accessed by scrolling. This was before any Epson updates and hasn't changed since the updates. Is the Print Preview part of the printer software or part of the iOS?

I didn't see any way to change the boldness of the font in Page Setup in Text Edit.

An example of a non-email bad print is this Apple Community page. If I take a ScreenShot of what I just wrote then it prints clearly with everything in its place and all the colors shown. If I use <Command><P> then it is almost completely unreadable-especially the fine print at the bottom. Even the arrangement of everything on the page is different along with no color for the "Reply" buttons. This also happens when I print an Amazon order page. It doesn't always print what I see on the screen. The only way to get what I see is to take a ScreenShot using <Shift><Command><4>.
