Apple Trade in Policy

Hey, so i have two questions. Does Apple take Iphone's that were bought elsewhere? I.e if bought from someone off the internet, for example, E-bay, Amazon. And if so does Apple just let you walk into a store and let you trade it in? As well as possibly trading it in to get $125 off a product, I.e if you were trying to get $100 off a 9th Generation Ipad.
