Changing Apple ID/Email

Can I change my Apple ID email account to my current Gmail ?

I don’t really use the Apple ID EMail I use my Gmail email for everything I would like to change my Apple ID from the insertemailaddress@icloud.com to insertemailaddress@gmail.com without ruining all my info that is saved to this device. Is this possible ?
