If Google thinks your mail client is too insecure, you might have to use an app password.

If it's an IMAP account & not POP, then in Sys Prefs>Internet Accounts, remove gMail, restart & setup Mail again but using Other rather than Apple's choice of google under add New eMail.

The last helping message took me to right path. I changed my Apple Browser (Safari) to Google Chrome and then loaded and assembled from internet (instead of Apple Mail) new email app Thunderbird and after shutting down and restarting my computer I could set up in Thunderbird all the e-mails I needed an had earlier. However it was not easy for me. Then I did the same procedure to my two other computers (Macs). my three iPhone 7 phones worked well without any trics but my old iPad I could not get working (with e-mail) anymore. The whole process took a little bit more than four days and three nights , but I am so greatfukk that there were so much brighter brains than mine which could escort and take me to the final goal.

Yes quite possible to have more than one, for instance gMail & iCloud eMails would have different Servers, as would Outlook & AOL, on & On.

... Your reply" Gmail server" not connected is something I'm familiar with, I've been able to decipher what is meant by email server. This is due to the fact that I have email addresses with five different (search engine/web sites )? Between my isp , mail apps & other search engines, which one determines my email server? Or is it possible to ' have active' more than one?
