Gmail Authorization Error: redirect_uri: urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob

Hey,

Suddenly my gmail isn't working via Apple's Mail -- Version 11.5 (3445.9.7)

I'm using an older 27" iMac (mid-2011) running High Sierra (Version 10.13.6)

The error message is as follows:

Authorization Error

Error 400: invalid_request

You can't sign in to this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy for keeping apps secure.

You can let the app developer know that this app doesn't comply with one or more Google validation rules.

I'm guessing that Google is (has?) changing the rules on how legacy apps connect with their way of doing things.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have logged into Google and added 2-step Verification to see if that would do anything (it hasn't).

My 3rd Party apps with account access includes macOS so I believe that's all good.

Yeah...weird.

I had a mac mini running elCapitan with a broken graphic card. So i changed the computer to a macBook Pro with High Sierra. Had the issue there, hadn't it in the two years older elCapitan. In my opinion google wants you to use their software, where it's much easier to extract privacy informations.

I'll redirect all gmails to another (non google) email account.
