Endless Pool (spa pool) workaround?

Based on all of the research I’ve done on this topic, it seems Apple Watch does not directly support swimming in an Endless Pool (spa pool). I’ve added a feature to my Endless Pool (something called Fit@Home from the manufacturer) that enables me to estimate the distance I’m swimming. Does anyone know what the Apple Watch would report if I initiated a Pool Swim with a lap distance of 200 yards or even longer?


A better solution would be for Apple to add a “Spa Pool” workout and ask for the swimmer’s stroke length. Apple, are you reading this?

For a Pool Swim, the distance is tracked using the built-in accelerometer. Since you won't be moving forward, I don't think any distance will be measured no matter what lap length you enter. For more info, see:
