Hello Ranger69Rick,

What you want to do can't be done. Once the car pairs with the car or even CarPlay, everything will run through that.

You can leave feedback for this to change or for Apple to give you that option: Product Feedback - Apple

Or wait to see if the manufacturer pushes an update for the stereo. You might also call in and report the issue to Apple Support. They may need to do some troubleshooting, then gather some info from the device to see where the connection has issues. Contact Apple Support

Thanks.

Hello Ranger69Rick,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you want to turn off Siri. We are happy to help.

Please use the steps here: Change Siri settings on iPhone - Apple Support

"Change when Siri responds

You can customize if Siri responds to your voice or a button press. You can also choose what language Siri responds to.

Go to Settings  > Siri & Search, then do any of the following:

  • Prevent Siri from responding to the voice request “Hey Siri”: Turn off Listen for “Hey Siri.”
  • Prevent Siri from responding to the side or Home button: Turn off Press Side Button for Siri (on an iPhone with Face ID) or Press Home for Siri (on an iPhone with a Home button).
  • Prevent access to Siri when iPhone is locked: Turn off Allow Siri When Locked.
  • Change the language Siri responds to: Tap Language, then select a new language.

You can also activate Siri by typing. See Type instead of speaking to Siri."

Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.

I don't want to turn off Siri, I would like to disable the car-play function so that Siri will answer questions I ask. Siri will sent texts and call people but it will not do other requests while driving and Bluetooth is connected. I want Bluetooth connected so I can play music, call people, send texts, etc., etc. But, I cannot get Siri to function without the car-play unless I turn off Bluetooth. Not even if I am sitting parked and the vehicle is running to keep the heat going. How can I turn of car-play for Siri??? An example is asking for directions to such and such place or turning on the Spotify app. Thanks for your help.
