  • I have reset all settings
  • i am signed in to icloud
  • Location services are on but find my iPhone is greyed out and set as ‘while using’
  • i can add an air tag and other item but not people
  • i can still see location if others who have shared

Greetings 1Hush,

It sounds like you’re finding the Find My app functionality to not be usable. Are you able to use Find My iPhone to locate your device, even if you’re unable to share your location? We ask that to determine if the issue is only sharing your location with others or if the issue is using any location for your device in Find My.

You had also mentioned that you check settings and see that Location Services are enabled for Find My. There is another setting we’d like to have you check, which is in the System Settings for Location Services. Here’s the path - Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Share My Location. Make sure that Share My Location is enabled there.

If it already is/was, we’d next like to determine if there are any profiles, VPN or security software installed on your device. You can

Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

Should you have VPN or security software, please temporarily remove it, restart your iPhone and test again.

Thanks.
