Good afternoon dlshn,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you are trying to connect your iPhone to a new router, and we'd like to help. The Asus TUF-AX5400 appears to combine a modem with a router, is that correct?

Can you provide a little more information about what you are experiencing?

Were you able to connect to a 5 GHz network on your previous router?

Is the Asus router able to assign separate names for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks? You may need to contact your Internet Service Provider and the router manufacturer for help with this.

Has your iPhone 14 Pro Max been updated to iOS 16.3.1?

Try restarting your iPhone and the Asus router to refresh the settings and connection to the Internet.

The resources below may help you address this issue:

Take care.

Hi! thank you for the reply.

Yes the Asus TUF-AX5400 is a combination of modem and router and its able to separate the names for 2.4 GHz and 5GHz. And my device has been updated to iOS 16.3.1

My previous router is not a 5GHz router so i can’t help to provide information for it.

All my apple device (iPhone 12 Pro Max, 14 Pro Max, and iPad Air 4) seems unable to even find the 5GHz network, it only detect the 2.4GHz one. I already try restarting and configuring stuff but i still cannot find the 5GHz network. When i try to manually connect to 5GHz via scanning barcode it give me a pop up that said “Unable to join the network” as seen on the picture above.

as seen on the picture above it only detect the 2.4GHz network and couldn’t find the 5GHz one.

I check with my other device like android, windows, and steam deck it seems to find and connect to 5GHz just fine.

If it helps, I’m from Indonesia and bought the phone there.

Please help me, thank you!
