FaceID, as used to secure the device, is fully supported.

By contrast FaceTime, an end-to-end encrypted communication App, is not supported for devices sold within the UAE.

Some features or functions are unavailable, or restricted. within certain regions. This is entirely due to local legislation/laws.

Country-specific restrictions can't be changed. That includes when FaceTime is unavailable (UAE, Qatar, etc.) or where the camera shutter sound is always on (like with iPhones distributed in South Korea). If you choose to buy an Apple device in the UAE, it will always have those restrictions. It's baked into the hardware regardless of where you take it.

Available device functions are permanently tied to the region-specific model number. Software restrictions will not change when operated outside the region of purchase.

If you wish to use FaceTime at any point in the future, you’ll need to purchase your device within a country that does not restrict access to the feature.
