I'm well aware of the fact that I can't create linked text in iOS Mail. I'm just wondering if there is some reason for the limitation. I'm assuming it's some kind of security concern, but if anyone has more explanation for this admittedly academic question, I'd be interested in hearing it.

Rob ~ It's not clear if you're aware of this, but linked text can be pasted in to Mail from the clipboard. See my post here:

At the end of that shortcut is an Open Notes action – but that can easily be removed or changed to open Mail ready for pasting.

Yes, that was really the question. Though thanks for the workaround, which is the best, I think, of those I’ve seen.
