In Apple Photos, how to manual pan/zoom in Ken Burns effect

Making a slide show using Apple Photos with Ken Burns effect. Seeking guidance on how to do so manually. When I click on the box in the lower left of a photo I get “drag and zoom photo to position the start” and a second option to “drag and zoom photo to position the start.” Despite repeated efforts, I cannot get a photo to begin in the upper left corner and end at the lower right corner, or follow any other path I want to create. Appreciate any insights on how to do this. Thanks!

Which system version do you have installed?

I do not know any versions of Photos for Mac, where we could freely and manually adjust the Ken Burns effect in a slideshow.

It can be easily done in iMovie, but not in Photos. I am using Ventura, and I can adjust only then ending position, but not the start independent of the stop.

To change the start point for the photo, first zoom in on the photo, then drag the photo around, so the upper left corner is visible. It does not always work, however.

Yes, exactly, I have been using the controls in this box as well, but it is a bit buggy. Setting the end of the Ken Burns effect influences, how the start can be set. We cannot combine them freely and independently in Photos, like we can in iMovie.

I am rarely using the Ken Burns Theme in Photos anyway, as it still is having the bug, that videos are playing only for four seconds.

L – Thanks for responding. I am running Photos 8.0 with Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1. When I select Ken Burns effect for my slideshow, there is a little box that shows up in the lower left-hand corner of each photo. When you click on that box, you get two highlightable lines. One says “Drag and zoom photo to position the start” and the second one says “Drag and zoom photo to position the end.” I am trying to get a pan that starts in the upper left and moves to the lower right, but can’t do it, even though it’s obvious from those lines that it should be possible. Just looking for step-by-step instructions on how to do that.
