iOS 16.3.1, Area limited focus turns on when switching from Sleep-focus

I have a set several focusses (Do-Not-Disturb, Personal, Work, Sleep [in this order]).

Work focus is set to activate only when I'm in the area of my office (about a 0,5 mile radius).

Sleep is activated automatically by Apple Health.

Whenever Work switches on or off an automation is triggered, which requires input from me (to silence workcalls by setting forwarding).

The area switching for Work works, however Work is also activated (shortly) after Sleep gets deactivated, triggering the Work automation every morning.

What is going wrong here?

Hi Matthew,

I think I have found the culprid. After reading the linked sites, I had another look at the Focus settings. For [Work] I not only had the "Area" activation, but also "Smart activation" turned on.

I have switched "Smart activation" off which solved the earlier behaviour.

Hi there drs-Dre,

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

We're happy to help. It sounds like you're utilizing a combination of Focus and a shortcut on iPhone. Is that correct?

It's good that your software is up-to-date. We encourage you to double-check the steps in these articles to be sure that both the Focus and shortcut(s) are set up correctly:

Hello Matthew,

Thank you for your response.

You are correct, I'm utilizing a combination of Focus and a shortcut on iPhone.

I have read the info in both links and I have made one change to the [work] focus. I deactivated [smart activation] and left [location] activation activated. I thought [smart activation] would help with activating [work] focus on 'smart' ocasions, but it might be absolutely stupid.

I've not been able to test if this change helps, but I will report my findings.

thanks Dré
