Someone shared their calendar with me and it was added to my personal calendar. How do I remove it ?

Hello,

Someone has shared an Outlook calendar with me. When wanting to add it to my shared calendars, I accidentally added it as my own (?). This is what I'm guessing as her slots now show up in my own personal calendar. I don't understand how to remove it from my own calendar.

For example, in the screenshot, we can see the Busy slots (hers) and mine (Cours UL). However, when I go in the settings, I cannot see that her calendar is in there (@gds.earth)

How do I remove it?

Hey there Juliatremblay,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. If you want to remove the shared calendar from your device, you could ask the owner to remove you, or you can change your reply to an invitation for the shared calendar. For more details on changing your reply to an invitation, check out this link here: Reply to invitations in Calendar on Mac - Apple Support

Change your reply to an invitation
1. In the Calendar app  on your Mac, click the Notifications button  in the toolbar, then click Replied.
2. Find the invitation in the notifications list, then click a button in the invitation to change your reply.

You can also change your reply in the event info window. To do so, double-click or force click the event, click the My Status pop-up menu in the event info window, then choose a status. You can also add a comment to your reply that is seen only by the organizer.

If your declined events disappear from Calendar, and you want to see them again, choose View > Show Declined Events.

Let us know if that's able to help.

Have a great day!

Hi Juliatremblay,

Since the other person selected to share their entire calendar, as opposed to just an event, they need to correct that action. If they aren't sure how to do that in Outlook, they may need to contact the app developer for help: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

In the meantime, if you view your calendars, you can uncheck that shared calendar, so you'll not longer see it.

Stop using a calendar account
You can temporarily stop using an account so that its calendars and events no longer appear in Calendar on your Mac.
1. In the Calendar app  on your Mac, choose Calendar > Accounts, then select the account you want to stop using.
2. Deselect the Calendar checkbox.
To use the account again in Calendar, select the Calendar checkbox. The account’s calendars and events reappear.
