IPAD stuck in Activation Loop after IOS 16.3.1 Software Update - Work Around
This is for all that is having the same issue with IOS upgrades causing your IPAD / IPHONE to get into a activation loop. Apple Tech or Apple "GENIUS" store will not be able to help. You will have others Apple FANS etc... to say different.. I am a consumer like many and devices that have been working up to a IOS upgrade raises a lot of concerns.. One thing is cost, time and replacement. The following may sound familiar stated by Apple Store Employees or Apple Phone Techs "HW may be the issue", "IOS upgrade not an issue to cause a device to brick", Apple Tech (phone) will provide "go to Apple store and they will be able to analyze the issue if it is HW or SW and provide fixes" OR "an upfront cost needs to be paid first it it is a HW issue for you to send it back to us for repair", Apple STORE - "Since device is stuck in a loop, the device is no use", "Device has a hard drive issue, cant be fixed" , "we don't do trade-ins, it will be worth nothing since its stuck in a loop" , "You, may be able to pass it off for a trade it in through one of our partners.. Verizon, Best Buy, AT&T, and they may be able to give you something" , "You have Find My device, turned on during upgrade that caused the issue and cant be fixed"..
Let me suggest this, DO not allow them to take it from you. Instead do the following to take the device out or re-activation or activation, your data that was once on it will reappear.. This is not a ploy, this is a simple retake of your device. Eventually, IOS upgrade will not work cause it may be a HW issue or whatever strange reason that the device does not want to upgrade to, but at least your device is not a brick and still can be used.
Go home boot up your sys and locate futurerestore-v194-windows or MAC (current release) Thanks to GitHub and the contributors Cryptiiiic Liam(Cryptic) and opa334 Lars Fröder.
Plug your powered on device in your usb port and type the following in terminal or command prompt
C:\>> futurerestore-v194.exe -e
"-e" will make the device exit from recovery / activation
You should have access to your device again with all the data.. Do a backup in itunes... and save it .. should be located under \Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup..
Hope this helps you as this help recover my childs ipad to working condition.
