watchOS 9.3.1 update causing considerable battery drain issue

Hey community,

Since the update of my Apple Watch S5 from watchOS 9.3 to 9.3.1, I have a considerable battery drain issue. Before the update, the watch was lasting for more than a day and half (including exercise monitoring exercise). Now, it cannot even make it to the end of the day with the active battery saving option, and without any monitoring activity executed!

I tried to hard reset the watch but it didn’t resolve the problem. Also, nothing changed in my daily usage apart from the update.

Do apple have any plans to communicate on this and fix the problem? I feel like people are left stuck with this impactful issue without any reaction to push a « quick fix » to that.

My daily usage with the watch is highly impacted and I’m very disappointed by that.

Cheers,

Apple Watch Series 5

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.
