ICloud access when old iPhone is broken

Had a similar problem and found a work around….

if you pop the SIM card from the broken phone and put it in a phone that IS working…. The cell number on the SIM card (from the broken phone) will associate itself with the working phone’s iMessage. Request the verification code again and it will be sent to the working phone. Once you have the code and verify, you can proceed with access and unlock your account. When done, just put the working phone’s original SIM card back in and Bamm!!!

Until I put that workaround into play I was not a happy camper with the apple verification protocol.

You will not be able to unless you have another trusted device from which you can verify credentials.
